Jason Harrington's work is known for its humanistic focus and emotional resonance. Jason's love of filmmaking stems from his passion for photography where he has honed his strong sense of composition and beautiful lighting. His filmwork is defined by a cinematic quality that always manages to capture real human emotion. His versatility and visually compelling approach has allowed Jason to make inroads into both the US and European markets with a range of styles. He owns an accomplished and diverse body of work and brings a wealth of industry experience and talent to every campaign.

 

Jason was born in Croydon, London. A graduate of St. Martin’s School of Art (1985 - 1989), where he studied Graphic Design and Photography. Soon after his degree show Jason started his career in 1989 as a director/designer at the BBC, in the presentation graphics design department. After four years creating station idents, title sequences, and promos for BBC1 and BBC2, earning numerous awards, Jason relocated to New York in 1995, where he went on to direct on-air promotions for VH1 at MTV networks in New York's Times Square. 

 

Later that year in 1995, he was signed by Tony Kaye Films for exclusive commercial representation in both Los Angeles and London. Jason's commercials career was launched with a 3 spot campaign for Houston Lighting & Power, one of which earned him a Silver D&AD award. He went on to shoot campaigns for Saab, Dunlop, a 3-continent shoot for Red Cross International, Gatorade, Guinness and many other high-profile clients. At a very early age, his fresh talent was celebrated in Creative Review Magazine being in a short list of directors to watch out for, by the head creatives at J.Walter Thompson, BBH and HHCL & Partners.

 

In 2000, Jason joined Propaganda for representation in America, and Academy Films in London. The following year Jason went under the one roof of Propaganda Worldwide alongside executive producers Dave Morrison and Steve Golin. After the demise of Propaganda in 2003, the New York-based Jason secured representation at Believe Media founded by partners Luke Thornton and Liz Silver, where he continued working steadily. In the summer of 2011 Jason joined Paydirt Pictures teaming up with Executive producers Jeremy Barrett & Jonathan Kerr, working with brands like Lexus ('September to Remember' campaign), New York Stock Exchange, American girl and Asus Notebooks Campaign which was well received with over 10 Million views on YouTube.

 

Jason has built up an extensive portfolio and has worked on a number of highly profiled campaigns including films for clients such as The New York Stock Exchange, BMW, Saab, Lexus, Asus Computers, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dunlop, Martini (featuring Gwyneth Paltrow), Allianz, Houston Lighting & Power, Saturn, Toyota, Fiat, Volvo, Rover (featuring Liberty Ross), Gatorade, Footlocker (featuring Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing & David Robinson), Guinness, Nivea, Johnson & Johnson, Playtex (featuring Zoe Felix), Bvlgari, Dunhill (featuring actor Henry Cavill) to name a few. His work has been recognized by many of the leading advertising award festivals, including several D&AD awards, BDA awards, Chicago International Television and Film Festivals, The Mobius advertising awards, and The International Monitor Awards, amongst others.
